Social
Responsibility

City Couriers recognises the importance of supporting local communities through various welfare initiatives thereby giving back to society and assisting those in need. We are committed to our regular HIV clinics, workshops, support groups and training that have resulted in increased awareness towards the HIV virus. This support extends to the families of those affected and our wellness programs have been most effective in both prevention and treatment of the illness.

In 2010 City Couriers commenced supporting the Abalindi Welfare Society in Inanda, KZN which comprises of an old aged home, frail care centre, hospice, crèche and children’s home. Approximately 200 individuals are assisted on a daily basis. The organisation is 40% funded by government subsidies and in tremendous need of basic building renovations and equipment repairs. City Couriers and its associated sponsors have and will continue to contribute towards the up-liftment of all patients cared for at the Abalindi Home. In addition City Couriers employees are continually engaged in supporting local charity drives such as the Winter Warmth Campaigns, Save the Children Fund and other charity initiatives. City Couriers pledged to make a significant contribution to socially responsible causes in our communities.

Environmental Awareness

City Couriers is fully committed to environmental awareness and preservation. We have an active and on-going Green Fleet Program in place, which aims to further reduce carbon emissions emitted from our fleet, year on year. This is achieved through reducing kilometres driven, strict driver training programs and effective fuel savers installed on all vehicles. We are committed to protecting our environment at all times in our organisation and further protecting our environment through new and innovative technology.

Environmental awareness is encouraged in our staff, facilitated through paper collections, bottle banks, centralised printers and on-going environmentally friendly awareness memorandums.
